Wensha Spa Pasay Branch

For wellness and relaxation, Wensha Spa is one of the destinations that comes to mind ever since my brother introduced me to the place back in 2009.  I've visited the Wensha Spa branch in Timog, Quezon City a few times before but it was my first time to visit the Wensha Spa branch in Pasay -- and that's what I'm gonna talk about here on this post.

Wensha Spa Center Co. Inc. is open 24 hours and offers a range of services such as massage, reflexology, facials, deep exfoliating scrubs and many other skin care treatments.  Their price range starts from P680.00 to around P2,000.00, the last time I checked the information board at the lobby.  Some of the services offered comes with an eat-all-you-can buffet and shabu-shabu, and of course, use of their facilities.

We got there and checked-in at almost 10PM.  It was a Friday night yet the place was surprisingly spacious at a day and time that you'd expect a lot of people to be there.  We availed the Wensha Body Massage package priced at P780.00 per guest which comes inclusive of their unlimited buffet and shabu-shabu, use of the wet area (shower, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room) and which allowed us to stay for up to 8 hours inside the spa.  Go check the pictures, you may click on the images to view them in a slightly bigger size.

After depositing our shoes at the counter and getting our slippers and keys, we secured our things at the locker room then went to the wet area.  (Cameras are not allowed so no photos inside the wet area and besides, no R-rated photos on my blog please. LOL!)  I usually shower first, then spend at least an hour at the sauna.  Steam room is too much for my own liking and the Jacuzzi is out of the question.  Not even underwear is allowed inside the wet area, so no way I'll expose my butt to just about everybody.  I feel safe with my towel on, haha!  After over an hour, showered again, changed into our Wensha robes, then went to the massage area.

Massage is approximately an hour long and let me just emphasize how I really enjoy their awesome Wensha body massage every time.  Sometimes I can't help but doze off while my muscles are being pampered.  Truly a great way to relax.  After your massage, the masseur will give you a piece of paper to evaluate the quality of their massage and to offer them a tip.  I usually give a hundred bucks.  Yeah, I'm so stingy.  O_o

After the one-hour body massage, we headed for the dining area to feed our hungry stomachs.  Wensha Pasay's dining area is way bigger than Wensha Timog's.  Go check out the photos below.

The Dining Area [L-R]:  (1) This is one side of the spacious non-aircon dining area ideal for smokers and for just hanging out with your friends.  The door at the end leads to the massage area for men.  The massage area, wet area, and locker rooms are separate for male and female.  (2) A close up shot of an interesting chandelier, one of the very few remarkable pieces on Wensha's interior.

Another side of the Dining Area [above images, clockwise from left]:  (1) The door at the far end leads to the massage area for women.  The two circular doorways lead to the air-conditioned dining area and the space in between (on both sides) are the buffet tables.  (2/3) Some of the food we took to our table that's still available.  And like any eat-all-you-can buffet, Wensha implements a "no left-over" policy, else you'll need to pay a certain amount.  They have separate penalties for left-over food and and left-over drinks.

Although Wensha is open 24/7, some services/facilities cease to operate at certain times of the day.  Food on the buffet table are re-filled only until midnight but I guess they were sufficient enough for guests because I still saw some food even after 2AM.  Upon checking, I realized that Wensha Pasay's menu is different from what's served at Wensha Timog.  The food choices from both branches are very limited and nothing to really rave about, so yeah, don't get too excited with the buffet.  Just to compare, I'll say I prefer the food served in Wensha Timog Branch.

From what I remember on the buffet table, Wensha Pasay's menu selection includes siomai, siopao, buchi, cupcake, pasta, kare-kare, and I think some sort of meat and then soup that eventually ran out, as we got there a bit late.  Perhaps we've missed a lot, I'm not really sure.  And while Wensha Timog serves ice cream, Wensha Pasay has yogurt which we missed because we ate at around 1AM and they've stopped refilling at 11PM (according to the service staff).  I didn't enjoy the shabu-shabu much because some of the veggies are either dried up or lumpy.

The air-conditioned Dining Area [L-R]:  (1) The buffet table in between the 2 circular doorways leading to the "outdoor" dining area.  (2) And -- that's me, The Pinoy Wanderer, shhh...

It started getting hot so we transferred to the air-conditioned dining area.  Then around 4AM, after making sure we've rested enough, we went back to the wet area for a quick shower.  I noticed that they've turned off the jacuzzi and the sauna.  The only thing that's turned on in the wet area is the steam room.  Showers are operational all day, as far as I know.

I still enjoy Wensha though I think the price hike from P680.00 to P780.00 which took effect since March 2012 was not very gratifying.  The one hour full body massage was extremely superb, probably the main reason why I go back to this place.  In my opinion, however, I think that they can do some improvement on their food selections -- specially that appetite is usually huge after a draining sauna and a satisfying massage.  Another thing of note, I observed that the staff were friendly and quite helpful.  I had no bad experience that day and on my previous visits to their other branch in Timog -- despite the many negative reviews I've been reading on the Internet.  And lastly, compared to Wensha Timog where we needed to wait a while to be given a table, Wensha Pasay is large enough to accommodate people even on peak days.

While checking out, I chatted with some of Wensha's friendly staff.
At half past 4AM, the nice folks at Wensha Spa waved us goodbye with their friendly smiles.  I have a soft spot for polite and friendly service and it was such a great way to end our relaxing Wensha adventure.  With the P780.00 per head for the Wensha Body Massage and a tip to the masseur, Wensha is a cool experience every time.  Well, so far.  I can't wait to go back.☺
