Orient - The Original Buko Pie from Laguna

Hello everybody, what's up?  The Pinoy Wanderer is back to bring you one bestseller Pinoy food -- and a personal favorite too! --  the BUKO PIE from Los Baños, Laguna!

It became a hobby for me to buy buko pie whenever I go home to my province and I travel by land.  Vendors would come up the bus during a stop-over in Laguna and they'll outdo one another trying to sell passengers with their pasalubong goodies, buko pies included.  These ambulant vendors usually offer discounts for bulk buys; say for the buko pie, the second box will come at a discounted price.  I don't usually buy right away because the prices are a bit expensive but at that crucial moment before  the bus  leaves,
they dramatically lower down the prices.  And in that small window of time -- I buy my pasalubong and of course, my buko pies!  Smart huh?  LOL!  Anyway, I have not been particular with my buko pies as it is a favorite.  Any buko pie will do, that's what I thought at first.  But when my brother had their team building in Laguna years ago and he brought home 2 boxes from this particular bakery, that's when I told myself that I need to stick to that particular buko pie from then on.  And so I did.  I'm talking about the buko pie from Orient - The ORIGINAL Buko Pie Bakeshop which a friend brought me last Friday.

Laguna is known to be home of the finest buko pies in the Philippines and so far, Orient - The Original Buko Pie is the best I've ever tasted.  Not too sweet and full of yummy young, tender buko slices in a crunchy well made crust that compliments the whole taste.  The filling is just so full of delicious tasting, carefully chosen buko that will definitely satisfy your cravings in the most pleasurable way.  Far better than Collette's that's too sweet and whose popularity has actually compromised the taste and quality of their buko pies, and most definitely far superior than the roaming buko pies that's sold by vendors everywhere.  I have not tried Lety's yet but I heard that Lety's Buko Pies are a people's favorite too along with Orient's.

Anyway, thanks to sir Pedong for the box of buko pies.  I expect my 4 (yes four) boxes of Orient - The ORIGINAL Buko Pie the next time you visit me.  And it was also nice seeing Precious and Grace, both from Tarlac, whom I had the chance to hang out with last Friday.  See you all soon again, specially when Jing comes home from UK.

[L-R]: The Pinoy Wanderer (that's me!), Mary Grace, Precious, and sir Pedong.

So folks, the next time you visit Laguna, don't forget to drop by Orient - The ORIGINAL Buko Pie Bakeshop at National Highway, Brgy. Anos, 4030 Los Baños, Laguna and be hooked on their delicious buko pies.  (FYI, they don't have any branch anywhere else and people line up everyday just to buy their buko pies.  You can reach them at (049) 536 3783 and (049) 827 3005).  But don't just take my word for it, go sample Orient's buko pie yourself and go back to this post and tell me what you think on the comments' section below.  And attention Orient - The ORIGINAL Buko Pie Bakeshop, please send some buko pies over here.  I need more, LOL!

UPDATE (October 2019):  My sister Hannah was married last October in Caleruega, Tagaytay.  On our way back to Manila, we dropped by a store to buy Orient The Original Buko Pie.  Apparently, they now have a store in Tagaytay apart from their original store in Laguna.  How I miss this buko pie!

Thanks you guys for reading.  See you all on my next wandering!
